We have an LG 32LX2R IIRC, it has spectacle which stretches the screen more at the sides better then the linear stretch IMHO but it makes tickers look funny. There is also a 'Full' option which has bugs; it stretches the screen to the sides and vertically so that it gets rid of the letterbox but it tends to overdo it vertically (why do that when you know the TV is 16:9 is beyond my understanding) and it doesn't work when there is low contrast, dark scenes but you can't see anything then on an LCD ;-)
What do you think about the LED dynamic backlit LCD TV's?

Yeah, if you have the money, definitely go for it. Otherwise, go for that other model, from Panasonic, that I mention in one of the links above.

OK. BTW, I did mean 72Hz, not 72KHz as I wrote ;) (72KHz refresh rate would be quite a feat, wouldn't it). Maybe we'll have to consider the Pioneer. We're sort of in the market to replace our 12-year old CRT (along with a new camcorder), but I haven't yet had the time to face the dizzying array of choices.

Yes, this is discussed here and here. Our Pioneer does 72Hz on a 24p signal, and on 60i/p movie signals through the cable box. It looks smoother, however Pioneer has an additional post-processing algorithm that specifically makes pans on movies look even smoother.

Is the Pioneer one of the sets that can deinterlace 3:2 pulldown to 3:3 or 4:4 by using a 72KHz or 96KHz refresh rate? I think I heard that somewhere. If so, do you get a nicer display of movies?
