As I said, this is the NEW flash Lite, version 3, which is MUCH closer to full Flash than before. And it DOES youtube and DailyMotion and many other video sites. So yes, it is very close, it is very close to a cigar too.

> This version is pretty powerful, maybe not full-full, but
> it works with most web sites.

"John", normally, I would delete such a comment. But I will leave it be. Because everyone must see what crackhead assholes the Apple fanboys can be when their JesusPhone and Jesus Jobs himself are being criticized for their agendas.

No, they won't. To get Flash working as users expect it to, they will need Apple's help and more API hooks that the current SDK offers. In any case, Apple will have to help them out.

I almost choked to death on my sandwich when I read:

> doesn't meet his company's performance standards for video

I agree with the spirit of this line, with minor alteration:

"Apple doesn't meet my performance standards for damn near anything."

much better :P

Here's to the eventual end of QuickTime, one of the oldest, nastiest, slowest, ugliest video players ever.

I keyed on the comment about quicktime working poorly on a PC.
You would think with all the PR from Apple about their psudo superiority that they would make it work well just for their reputations sake.

This is a honest question - which Nokia phone is it that has full Flash? I did look, but I gave up with the N96, which has Flash Lite 3. I'm not up to date on all of the phone features and version numbers where Nokia is concerned. I was under the impression that only the NIT's had full Flash? Flash Lite 3 supports FLV.

The NIT's, well running OS2008, Flash video is watchable, mostly, but it's not perfect at all. This is with a 400MHz ARM processor. Video performance is probably the issue though.

Also, I read a few reports, and this one "spins" the message Jobs had. He actually said that the Flash Player's where not *suitable* for the iPonone. That the desktop version is too slow and the Lite version doesn't work well enough to warrant use. I concur with this assessment, given NIT experience and the fact that Adobe are so bad at optimisation, that they couldn't even build and release a non Windows x86 version of Flash player, optomised to run on well on the targetted hardware, even if a third party were to take the code and optomise it for them. They would still manage to build an unoptimised POS.

Scobble <a href="http://scobleizer.com/2008/03/06/is-steve-jobs-lying-about-flash-not-working-on-iphone/" rel="nofollow">rumours</a> that Flash is available for iPhone internally at Apple, by the way:
