Even a public institution supports this idea. Not strange. You can't just sell 1.3 million devices and then leave everyone out in the cold. I have the Toshiba HDA-3 and would love to turn it into a MythTV frontend. Instead of dumping all those old HD-DVD players into a landfill they could actually turn them into something useful. Toshiba would probably prefer to take the loss and move on instead of doing something cool for the community.
