You export with Kino using a mjpeg, ljpeg, huffyuv, ffv1 or ffvhuff codec, and then you use either mencoder or ffmpeg to export at 874x480, de-interlaced.

How can I do this using open source tools in Linux? I know SUPER uses oss tools like ffmpeg, etc. but this is a Windows GUI for tools available in Linux. Let's say if I edit something simple with Kino (I know it's not your favorite tool), can you recommend which tools to use to come up with the same result using any Linux distro (say Ubuntu 7.10)? Thanks!
