Bush: Nuke-free Iran still a danger

Iran remains a danger, despite halting a nuclear weapons program four years ago, according to U.S. President George W. Bush. His comments came as Iran said Washington must “pay the price” for “lies” about the program after U.S. intelligence undermined previous claims Iran was working on weapons. “[…] Iran will be dangerous if they have the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon,Bush said.

So let me get this straight. USA wants to monopolize the *knowledge* of how to create something? Is it not enough to monopolize the actual manufacturing? So does USA want the rest of the world to live on trees and eat bananas while US can go to Mars? Give me a break.

And another question: why did the US government made this intelligence report public in the first place? It could have been kept secret like another million ones do. It just makes Bush look like a liar indeed. It’s curious.

This is because the intelligence community and the conservatives have decided to not support the neocon gangsters this time/anymore. Sure it makes Bush look like a liar, but you don’t need this incidental proof for it, do you? Bush’s pathetic spin of the report, is silly enough, it’ll be very “interesting” to see what Cheney comes up with next. This guy is one of the most dangerous people on the planet, after all.

Do you beleive it anyway?

Personally after Iraq with the lack of weapons of mass destruction I have little faith in whether the US knows if Iran is making nuclear weapons or not. Infact now that the US has said Iran isn’t trying to make them I am more inclined to think they are trying to make them!

I also agree that all nations should have access to modern tech and knowledge but when it comes to weapons I would prefer NO nation to have that knowledge and if only one nation has that knowledge then fine - 1 is better than 2 etc etc..

Maybe he realized this war would be a no go and wanted a way to back out.

I feel embarrassed to live in this country sometimes. There is just no way anyone can “spin” this. Open dialog, open trade and respect should be our foreign policy. Not this.

I’m quite amazed when I see that it’s the countries with nuclear weapons who want Iran no to have them. They have no moral right to ask someone not to do what they do.

So if we want Iran not to have nuclear weapons, why not propose an agreement with every country to get rid of them?

And it’s not just USA. In the EU we also have nuclear weapons and we ask Iran not to have them. Based on what? Nobody believes that we are more responsible than anyone else after being responsible for 2 world wars.

Like in the joke when they beat the rabbit because he doesn’t have a hat, then the next day they ask for cigarettes and when he asks back whether they want filtered or not they look at each other and say “-Hey, he still doesn’t have a hat” and beat him nevertheless.
