		<description>Yes, the tape noise is audible, but it does not bother me personally as most of my videos have audio removed, and for the ones that don't, I use an external mic. :)</description>

Funny though, I notice the engine noise, so let me quote from my Amazon review about this camera: "&lt;i&gt;About the tape transport/engine noise while filming: yes it's there, but only when I film in a totally silent surrounding. Most people test their camcorder when they are alone, and that explains the negative reviews. The reason is that the built in microphone has automatic gain, so it becomes more sensitive when there isn't much noise. As soon as you have people talking, music, or random background noise, the tape/engine noise is inaudible. That really is the truth about it. There is no way to prevent this, but while editing, there are plenty of ways to do away with the noise (add music, turn volume down etc)&lt;/I&gt; " One guy even sent back the camera because of the engine noise.</description>
