Nope, Canon only offers EOS lenses compatibility with their highest end camera, the one that costs $8000. The rest of their semi-pro cameras, that range from $3000 to $6000 don't have this support from Canon. Let alone their consumer cameras.

Now you understand why I am asking for a "consumer/semi-pro camera for artists". Because there's nothing like it, while in the photography world there is.

The reason I don't want to buy a 35mm adapter is because sooner or later I will move to AVCHD, and that adapter mount might not work for that future camera, in which case it would go busted.

It would bring your music documentaries on a whole new level, if I may say so. I think in your position, the investment is wellworth. The lens could be used for still photography also, so it has double use. I wouldn't build the adaptor myself, though. I read de pdf tutorial, and the parts cost a lot of money, and if you mess it up, which is likely when one needs to use superglue, you'll lose a lot of money.
Doesn't canon have a adaptor?

Yeah, I know what a 35mm adapter and a good lens can do... it's just that it's actually expensive, and a hassle. :D

Most indie directors and music video clip directors who shoot with the "cheap" $5000 cameras are all using 35mm adapters. My HV20 can get one too, it's just that I don't think it's worth it at this point.

I looked at your links, and for me, this 35mm adaptor really puts the 'film' into 'filmlook'. It makes a real huge difference. I found a youtube of a guy who hooked a macro lens on the adaptor, which makes it even more spectacular: in one shot from macro to long distance focus. Pretty amazing. Search on Youtube for mattduvall
