I agree with l3v1… Love Miranda, I don’t need all these additional plugins apart from the ones that come with the basic download, no useless avatars/emoticons/smiley bs, no sounds, etc, and it’s damn stable. One area it needs more focus on is better file-transfer support IMHO, too flaky atm. YMMV ofcourse.

Well, I use miranda on win32 for about 3 years now for all networks I use, with only the plugins I need (e.g. no extra smiley and emoticon junk), and I had a hard time remembering when it crashed on me. It’s my favourite im app on win32, for good reason.

okay, I take it back.

I thought it was a port like gaim.

There is something to be said for software that is unified in the way it looks and they way it works.

Linux is bad in this regard.

Yeah but it’s a Windows application, bashing open source because of ignorant developers is just nonsense. You can take Windows and MacOS and you have tons of ignorant developers, but guess what? Instead of bashing them, you do pay them for being ignorant <img src='http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' />
