50 dumb things president Bush said

George W Bush is just not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Many people hate him, but you can’t hold a grudge against a dumb person, now can you? He obviously can’t help it. Some proof about this.

- “I’m the master of low expectations.”
- “I’m also not very analytical. You know I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about myself, about why I do things.”
- “We need an energy bill that encourages consumption.”
- “I know what I believe. I will continue to articulate what I believe and what I believe — I believe what I believe is right.”
- “See, free nations are peaceful nations. Free nations don’t attack each other. Free nations don’t develop weapons of mass destruction.”
- “Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren’t able to practice their love with women all across this country.”
- “The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him.” —Washington, D.C., Sept. 13, 2001
- “I don’t know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don’t care. It’s not that important. It’s not our priority.” —Washington, D.C., March 13, 2002

Like many I started out thinking that Bush was:

- really quite dim (dumb),
- kindly with a Christian foundation,
- going to turn his back on the wider world,
- right wing with independent thought,
- in public office for the public good

and now with weariness I do not believe ANY these things.

As you say - he isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer but I suspect he is not as dim as sometimes appears. A whole lot more cynical to be sure.

Sadly my taxes contribute to pay for the mess he has made. As a Brit I think he is one of few remaining markers on the political scene who actually makes Blair look good!
