And you can’t back out? That was what saved me with my iPod - “hacking” the iPod firmware and re uploading the original version.

Off on a tangent: The newest iPod firmware is totally sweet. Gapless is flawless. Brightness control - FINALY! The video player now shows the battery level when the OSD comes on. The fast search is okay too (found that accidentally a minute ago.)

What makes you think that I don’t google? I always do, although the firmware update was released just 10 days ago (even if it is dated from July) and so it’s a new thing and not many people have upgraded yet. I visit all the symbian forums and people are having similar problems. There are no “solutions” for these problems, these are simply bugs and all we can do is simply wait and pray that Nokia will release updates.

Should have googled for issues… there are litterally hundreds of people complaining about bugs in the last Firmware update.

I always tend to google for problems before upgrading the fw of any device… in fact I only got caught out once recently with my iPod (video sound stopping bug in FW 1.0 for iPod Video), and that was enough for me to never upgrade again without checking <img src='http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';-)' />

You can use a static IP with DHCP by configuring the DHCP server (mapping a MAC address to a fixed IP). Not sure if our wifi base station allows that, though.
