Greece destroys U.S. title dreams

From CNN.com: “European champions Greece shocked odds-on favorites the United States 101-95 to reach the final of the world basketball championship in Japan on Friday.”
That was a good game. I stayed up late to watch it, and to be honest I didn’t expect Greece to win. But they played well. Better than usually, to say the truth. Let’s see what’s going to happen on Sunday now, in the final…
Update: Spain played really well, they defensively exploited the fact that Greece does not have a real scorer in their team. Congrats to Spain!

I did expect Greece to beat USA. The USA team doesn’t know how to play FIBA basketball. They’re great players but an awful team. Greece doesn’t have superstars but it’s a great team.
Congratulations !
Oh, and Spain’s best player got injured at the end of the other semi-final, so he probably won’t play the final. Even without him Spain is slightly superior, but anything can happen. I just want to enjoy a great match.
Greece won the game a long time before it started by playing extremly well the “underdog” role.
Great game! I think it was a comprehensive victory. No caveats here they just play better basketball.
Thanks (from Spain). You are right that Spain’s defense during the first half killed Greece, who had a bad day anyway, since they didn’t score even some easy shoots.
I would have liked to see a better match, but I’m happy for Spain. Being the best team in the last few years (with Argentina) we didn’t have luck up to now.
