Sorry Sim, but you are wrong. cHTML *is* more compatible than XTML-MP and I am talking about the standard HTML tags, and NOT the i-Mode special tags.

Remember, my mobile code is not only good for cellphones, but I am taking special care of old computers (e.g. Amiga, Atari, Be), embedded systems, gaming systems (e.g. Dreamcast browser) and UNIX text-mode browsers.

ALL these browsers have one thing in common: HTML 3.2. And this is why the basic form of cHTML is your best bet for compatibility with anything NON-desktop.

Remember, not just cellphones!!

It’s true that chtml is a subset of HTML 3.2 but it’s not true that cHtml is more compatible than XHTML (*MP*).
cHTML is used only in Japan and only from DoCoMo companies (in their old phones !!!). All the phones from other two biggest companies in Japan support XHTML MP.
In Europe and US you must deliver XHTML (wml if you want think some user will browse digg useing their old WAP 1.0 browsers)

But why don’t fix bad things? It’s always good for a coder to clean up code. Anyways good work =) I’ve put your script working at http://m.Tondela.org with some changes. It works fine.

I don’t know, and obviously I don’t really care. It doesn’t do any harm to be there, it was part of the original parser, I didn’t touch that, because changing the parser itself is pretty hairy.

Hi!

At function getXmlData(), the $n=0 is for what!? if it’s declared in the loop above as zero, and it’s not used before.

As you can see above Please, when publish code, check it a little first. Your websites are good, but I really don’t like to see bad code. Instructions for doing nothing, only to fill lines, why ?!

for($n=0;$n

No, OSNews has not doubled. In fact it hasn’t changed its popularity in the last year. But Alexa changed their algorithm a few months ago, many sites (including Slashdot and Gnomefiles) found themselves higher in the rank.

Sorry, a bit off topic, but related to osnews, does alexa’s traffic rankings have any conexion with reality? I just looked at them for osnews and it seems it has multiplied by 10 or something in the last year… Could this be because everybody’s visiting the site on their mobile’s?

BTW, if you somehow stumble on a bug where the descriptions are off by 1 (e.g. the Description does not match the current Title), change in the code this:

$title=$myar[TITLE][$i];
$link=$myar[LINK][$i];

to this:

$title=$myar[TITLE][$i+1];
$link=$myar[LINK][$i+1];

The problem appears only on some RSS feeds… Let me know if you can come up with a solution…
