Diet Recipe: Stifado

Another Greek favorite, squeezed in 200 calories.

Ingredients (for 1)
* 100 gr sirloin fat-free veal (110 cals)
* 150 gr of peeled small onions (60 cals)
* 1 large tomato (30 cals)
* 1 chopped garlic clove
* 1/2 cup of red wine
* 1 bay leaf
* salt and pepper to taste

Execution
1. Remove any remaining fat, cut the veal in 3 pieces. Wash the peeled onions. Cut the tomato in small cubes.
2. In a pan add all ingredients along with 2 cups or water. Stir. Cover the top of the pan.
3. Cook in low heat for about 3 hours. Add water if needed (must be a bit juicy).
4. Remove the bay leaf. Serve hot.

Tip: The original non-diet recipe is done with rabbit, more tomato sauce, and olive oil, although beef-based stifado is popular too.
